2020 Summer Camps

Summer camp registration is now open!

As always, and especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are committed to offering safe and high-quality summer camp programs to our participants. Staff continues to conduct evaluations of our camp programs with the guidance issued by the American Camp Association (ACA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Governor Ralph Northam, local health and government officials, and local camp providers.

We are happy to present our Summer Day Camp schedule! We are offering select Summer Camps for kids ages 6-11 and teens. Although our camps will be modified for size, social distancing, and other safe practices, participants can still expect to learn new skills, make new friends, and play fun gamesIf you have any questions, please contact us at 703.335.8872.

Important Information for MPCC Summer Camp 2020

  • Smaller group sizes will be implemented in accordance with CDC guidelines. Staff to camper ratio will be 1:9.
  • Children will only be with their group throughout each day of camp.
  • Campers must practice social distancing.
  • Face coverings are strongly recommended. Campers must wear their own face covering/mask during camp.
  • Campers must attend camp in good health. If any symptoms are present, the child will be isolated and a parent will be called to take the child home.
  • Campers must bring their own snack, lunch and water bottle.
  • Field trips will not be offered.
  • Swimming will not be included.

2020 Summer Camp Options

We will not be running preschool camps this summer.

*All school age camps are for children entering 1st grade through entering 6th grade.

MPCC School Age Summer Camps
(Ages 6-11) The MPCC is committed to providing its youth the opportunity to get out and get active this summer through our day camp program. While camp will be different in several ways, many of the fun activities kids are used to experiencing will remain, such as centers, arts and crafts, gym time, outdoor time, etc.  Redesigned activities use physical distancing to foster a healthy environment. Due to the nature of our restrictions, camps this season will not be theme-based. Your child will need a breakfast, lunch, and two snacks each day. Please also send them with a water bottle. Session is limited to 20 participants. $66/AAP; $110/M; $121/R; $132/NR

Ninja Warrior Challenge
(Ages 6-11) Camp participants are thrust back in time to ancient Japan, where they must learn the skills of the Ninja warriors.  With their newly learned skills, they will participate in the skill challenge at the end of the week.  A combination “Capture the Ninja Flag”, “American Gladiators” and “Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course” will test their metal and skills.  They will learn acrobatics, proper use of Ninja equipment (foam safety and Nerf), Martial Arts, and more!  Your child will need a breakfast, lunch, and two snacks each day. Please also send them with a water bottle. Session is limited to 20 participants. $66/AAP; $110/M; $121/R; $132/NR

Samurai Warriors Camp
(Ages 6-11) It’s ancient Japan – the 1800’s.  The Emperor has to put together an army of Samurai Soldiers!  He only has one week to train the loyal farmers that surround his castle in Kendo (Way of the Sword), Nerf Archery, Foam rubber Bo staff, water artillery, and water cannons and this new stuff called Karate that one of the villagers recently invented.  The soldiers have 5 days to train, including creating and building their own Samurai armor to protect them against the enemy forces. The fate of the Emperors nation depends on your children! Your child will need a breakfast, lunch, and two snacks each day. Please also send them with a water bottle. Camp QuaranTEEN
(Ages 12-17) Teens…you have officially survived the quarantine of 2020! Schools been out since March. Some of your favorite places have been closed. A lot of us have been going stir-crazy in the house. Well, it’s finally time to breakout of boredom and come back to the Community Center. This summer we have tons of exciting activities, games, art and cooking activities designed just for you, to help make this summer a memorable one.  All activities will include social distancing and follow CDC guidelines. $48/AAP; $76/M; $86/R; $96/NR

Summer Camp Registration Process

  • Create an account on Rec1.
  • Add a credit card information on to your account.
  • Register for the camp you want to participate in.
  • You will receive an email confirmation of camp/camp care registration.
  • If you do not receive a confirmation email within 2 business days, contact Amelia Powell at a.powell@manassasparkva.gov

Enrollment & Payment Processes

You must register your child ONE WEEK prior to their chosen programs including completing the registration forms. If you are already registered and need to dis-enroll or switch camps (capacity permitting), you must make these changes one week prior to the chosen program.

You must have a credit card on file for payment. If you do not have a card on file, your child will be removed from camps. Payments will be drafted on the Friday prior to camp. If your card does not go through, we will make email and phone contact Friday morning. If your account is not rectified by noon on Friday, your child will not be permitted to attend camp on Monday. If your account is brought to date after the noon deadline, your child will be permitted to start camp on Tuesday.
