We had our preschool graduation this month. I feel very fortunate for being able to see so many preschool classes graduate here at the Community Center. In fact, my very first preschool class will be transitioning into middle school this coming September! Some still come to visit and it makes me extremely happy that they still remember me. Working for the Preschool Division is very rewarding, because even though my students leave each year, they remember all the things we leaned together.
Sometimes people ask why preschool graduation is so sad for me. No matter how many classes go by, it’s still sad, but at the same time very rewarding. Sending off our preschoolers to kindergarten is always hard because we’ll miss them. As an educator, you build such strong bonds with each one of your students and their families. You don’t get to see their progress everyday but you trust that everything they learned with you will help them succeed. Each class is so very special and unique and I hold them all dear to my heart. Saying goodbye to my students and their families is always tough, but I will never forget their beautiful faces and I will always be Ms. Angel, their preschool teacher.
Congratulations to all of my preschoolers for graduating this year! And to all parents: Cherish every small success and celebrate each goal your little ones achieve!
