Check It Out! We Have Been Busy! – by Arely Angel

We have been quite busy in the Preschool Division! We have been listening, researching, training, and working out details. Why, you ask? To provide the best possibilities for our preschoolers and their families. We strive to offer programs that best meet the needs of our participants and their families. With that in mind, we have made a few but very important changes to some of our preschool programs.

We started with our Playschool Summer Camps. In previous years, juggling preschool age and school age campers for one family was tricky. Parents had to choose between AM or PM preschool camps while also coordinating pick up and drop off of their older child. This year we have decided to only offer AM camps followed by an aftercare option for those attending Playschool Camps. With this option, parents will be able to drop off and pick up both school age and preschool age children at the same time. For parents of preschoolers who will be attending kindergarten in the fall, the additional time of aftercare will help them prepare for the full day of school that they will experience in kindergarten. Please keep in mind there is a separate enrollment and cost for after camp care.

We are excited about our changes for the fall Preschool session! We have spent many years attending trainings and working with other early childhood organizations to provide the best early childhood care solution for our community. We learned about the importance of preparing our children for kindergarten through additional class time. Using this knowledge, we have adjusted our hours for this upcoming 2018-2019 school year. Our new hours will be 8:30am to 12:00pm for our Senior Preschool. This extra hour will provide more instruction time and will help our preschoolers have an easier transition to kindergarten. Our Junior Preschool hours will be 1:00pm-3:00pm. The program will continue to focus on the growth and development of our preschoolers as we transition them into the Senior program.

We hope to share these exciting changes with you and your family. Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding the changes or registration.

    Hi,

I’m interested in learning more about your preschool program. Below are some of my questions:
    1. At what age is considered senior preschool?
    2. What is your tuition for the fall preschool session (i.e. 8:30-12p)? what is the timeframe of the session?
    3. Where is the program located exactly?
    4. Is there a brochure that provides an overview of the program?

    Thank you,
    Monic

Hi there Monic! Here are the answers to you questions as of 6/6/2018
      1. Senior preschool covers students ages 4-5
      2. Preschool tuition is monthly and is $300 for non-residents, $280 for City of Manassas Park residents, $270 for Manassas Park Community Center members, and $168 for All Access Passport members. Preschool is September-June. During the summer, we offer playschool camps for the same age ranges as our preschool.
      3. The program is located at the Manassas Park Community Center.
      4. There is a page on our website you can view more information and a few documents you can download. We recommend speaking with Ms. Angel directly for specific questions.
