Important COVID-19 Update

Parents/Members/Customers,

Please be advised of the following actions that MPCC is taking to serve and accommodate our customers during this trying time:

Extended Care:

Due to the unexpected closure of Extended Care for the remainder of the year, parents that opted for a credit to be applied to a future session, will now receive a refund. Per standard department policy, refunds can take up to 30 days* (*potentially longer based on staffing levels). All students will be removed from the remaining Extended Care sessions. Please submit any questions or concerns to Jacquelyn Tyre-Perry.

Preschool:

Due to the unexpected closure of Preschool for the remainder of the year, parents will now receive a partial refund for the last two weeks of March in which their children did not attend. Per standard department policy, refunds can take up to 30 days* (*potentially longer based on staffing levels). All students will be removed from remaining Preschool sessions. Please submit any questions or concerns to Arely Angel.

Recreation Programs:

All recreation programs are cancelled through April (with the potential for this to be extended). Cancelled programs include: the Easter Egg Hunt (4/3 & 4/4), Kite Festival (5/2), and Spring Yard Sale (5/9).

Aquatics:

The Signal Bay Waterpark is closed through June 10th. All April swim lessons have been cancelled and we are currently issuing refunds. If you paid via Credit Card, you can expect a refund within a day or two. If you paid by cash or check, it may take longer than 30 days for a check refund to be mailed to you. If you would like to sign up for any May swim lessons, please do so. Be assured that if we have to cancel the lessons due to closure, you will be issued a refund for lessons missed. Memberships:

We have frozen all memberships and membership payments until we are able to re-open.  As a result, your membership will be extended based on the number of days we are closed. If your bank automatically sends a check to cover your monthly membership payment, we will reach out to you when we receive your check to discuss your options.  Please submit questions to Amelia Powell.

Rentals:

Customers who have indoor or outdoor rentals scheduled to take place while the community center is closed will receive a full refund or can have any monies paid towards their existing rental credited to another available rental date.  Please submit your refund/credit requests to Amelia Powell.

Parks:

Per Executive Order #53, issued pursuant to Va. Code §44-146.17, public gatherings of 10 or more individuals in the City’s Parks is prohibited until further notice to combat the spread of COVID-19.*

*Please note, if the executive order is violated repeatedly, we will shut down those areas where violations are occurring (e.g. the basketball courts and dog park).

    I have a rental for May but since the place will be closed until June 10 what do I do to get a refund on the deposit?
