January is coming to an end, and like many of you, we made New Year resolutions. We’re already a few weeks into 2019, so I’d like to offer a bit of encouragement. Whether your resolution was to join a gym, catch up with friends, or read a book you have wanted to read, regardless of your goal, it always helps to be encouraged and motivated!
Starting new habits or getting back into a routine can be difficult with our busy schedules. There are always distractions and duties pulling us in so many directions. Between work, family, friends, and other obligations it can become very easy to lose focus on our goals, not to mention the moments that can cause us to fall back into habits that keep us from following through and meeting our goals.
With that said, I encourage you to set some time aside to make a weekly calendar! This helps keep your goals fresh in your thoughts. Share your goals with a friend or someone who can check in with you on a regular basis. Life happens, and sometimes it throws unexpected curveballs at you, but don’t lose sight of your goals and keep trying!
I’m not always comfortable trying new things and stepping out of my comfort zone. When working out for the first time in a while or taking a class and learning something new, it can be a bit overwhelming. We all have that “first day of school” feeling. However, don’t worry, you’re not alone! Do not give up, and always remember you are doing this for your benefit.
Lastly, try your best not to get discouraged by the time it takes you to achieve your goals based on someone else’s. You’ll find it harder to get to where you want if your eyes are on someone else. Keep looking ahead, moving forward, and you will get there, no matter what you resolution or goal was. Please feel free to stop by and let me know how you are doing!
