2018 Summer Camps

We offer a variety of Summer Camps for kids ages 3-5, 6-11, and Teens. If you have any questions, please contact us at 703.335.8872.

Registration opens April 15th. Camp offerings may change prior to registration open date.

Summer camp registration forms must be completed and returned to the community center in order to complete the registration process. Please speak with a front desk representative for more information.

2018 Summer Camp Options

These camps are for kids not yet enrolled in Kindergarten. You must provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate and their physical completed by a physician. Children MUST be potty trained.

After Camp Care – $27/AAP; $40/M; $45/R; $50/NR
After Camp Care is provided for kids enrolled in our Playschool camps. We will have age appropriate activities, such as stories, crafts, and games. Each child will need to bring a nut-free snack. *No camp care on 7/4.

Discover America’s birthday while playing games and participating in activities that represent the Red, White, and Blue.

Does your preschooler love to experiment? Silly Science will help them understand simple science while having fun. *No camp on 7/4.

Mini H2O and Go – $36/AAP; $60/M; $65/R; $70/NR
Together we will discover the ocean! Your child will receive a swim lesson taught by a water safety instructor. Children will be swimming every day. Be sure to pack a swimsuit and towel. Camp is limited to 15 participants.

Creating fun and healthy foods is our goal as we learn about healthy choices and kitchen safety.

We will be having a magical time while casting “spells” with our wands, making potions, and playing games such as broomstick races.

Discover planets, constellations, and stars. We will make alien ships and paint our own model solar system.

We will learn about community helpers and their roles throughout the community. At the end of the week, we will have a visit from a police officer.

Your child will visit five countries in five days. We will make our own suitcase and passport then travel the world! In each country, we will make a craft and learn words from the country’s official language.

There is no better place to be than at the Manassas Park Community Center for our summer camps. An array of themes, sports, and fun activities provide summer campers with exciting, fun memory-making moments. All campers are grouped together by age. Campers will swim once a week on their camp’s designated swim day. Participants MUST sign up by the Wednesday prior to each camp for camps and camp care.
*No camp or camp care on 7/4. All school age camps are for children entering 1st grade through entering 6th grade.

Each day will hold a new design theme and a new kind of clay.

H2O & Go Camp – $60/AAP; $100/M; $110/R; $120/NR
Each day your child will receive group and individual swim lessons taught by water safety instructors. We will then play athletic games like kickball, basketball, and soccer in the afternoon. Each session is limited to 12 participants.

Martial Arts Olympics Camp – $60/AAP; $100/M; $110/R; $120/NR
Martial Arts Olympics is where children enter as themselves and leave as a virtual Chuck Norris! Campers train in the competitive skills of martial arts including no contact rhythm sparring, board breaking, and Nerf archery! At the end of the week, they enter the arena and compete for top honors. Authentic martial arts uniforms are available for purchase at a discounted price at the camps.

With tons of daily experiments, hands-on fun, and learning the ins and outs of science, your child will surely be the next Bill Nye. *No camp on 7/4.

Volleyball Camp – $50/AAP; $90/M; $100/R; $110/NR
Want to learn how to perfectly spike or serve the ball? What about how to precisely pass the ball to your teammate? This camp will cover the finer points of volleyball that will help take your game to the next level. *No camp 7/4.

Art is expressed in many different forms, but what better way to do it than getting messy in the process. Send your kids in clothes you do not mind them getting dirty, because messy art will be just that…MESSY!

Basketball Camp – $60/AAP; $100/M; $110/R; $120/NR
Take your child’s basketball skills and knowledge of the game to the next level. Your child will love being a part of this fast-paced action-packed camp. Campers will learn the basics of basketball through various drills each morning and will play tournament style games in the afternoon.

Ninja Warrior Challenge – $60/AAP; $100/M; $110/R; $120/NR
Camp participants are thrust back in time to ancient Japan where they must learn the skills of the ninja warriors. With their newly learned skills they will participate in the challenge at the end of the week. A combination “Capture the Ninja Flag,” “American Gladiators,” and “Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course” will test their mettle and skills. They will learn acrobatics, proper use of foam and Nerf ninja equipment, martial arts, and more! Authentic ninja uniforms and child-safe weapons can be available for purchase at the camps with parent approval. Call for more information.

Soccer Camp – $60/AAP; $100/M; $110/R; $120/NR
Soccer Camp provides players of all ages and abilities with soccer coaching. Each day includes foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and daily fun. This camp is open to all skill levels.

Samurai Warriors Camp – $60/AAP; $100/M; $110/R; $120/NR
It is ancient Japan sometime in the 1800s. The Emperor has to put together an army of samurai soldiers! He only has one week to train the loyal farmers in: Kendo (Way of the Sword), Nerf Archery, foam rubber bo staff, water artillery, and water cannons and this new stuff called Karate. The soldiers have five days to train, including creating and building their own samurai armor to protect them against the enemy forces.

From fingerprints to crime scenes, Forensic Files will be sure to boost your child’s detective skills.

Kids will choose and practice a famous play or musical. They will create their own props and costumes. Parents are invited to Friday’s show.

There are so many sports to choose from, and if you are having trouble selecting one, then this camp is perfect for you! We will cover mainstream sports and dive into alternative sports such as kickball and wiffleball. This camp is perfect for the camper who enjoys a variety of sports.

A week of obstacles, relay races, contests, and lots of teamwork.

We will learn about different countries and their cultures through food, language, and tradition.

Flag Football Camp – $60/AAP; $100/M; $110/R; $120/NR
With football season right around the corner, this camp is guaranteed to get your ball player ready for the upcoming season by engaging in conditioning and defensive and offensive drills. Pads and cleats are not required for this camp, as it will be a flag football camp. This camp is open to all skill levels.

Cheer Camp – $60/AAP; $100/M; $110/R; $120/NR
Learn the basics of cheers and chants and learn how to properly tumble and make pyramids. At the end of camp, the cheerleaders will perform a special routine for parents.

Escape Room – $60/AAP; $100/M; $110/R; $120/NR
This brand new camp will give the kids a chance to experience a kid friendly escape room. With different room themes, the kids will be working together to find clues, solve puzzles, and escape the room.

Come to the Community Center with other teens (ages 12-17) and create lasting memories. Our fun, energetic Recreation Leaders lead our camps, and each day is action-packed! No before or after camp care is available. Teens are encouraged to participate in Teen Passport classes before camp, and then hang out in the Teen Center afterwards. Free lunch is available starting at 11:00am.

View from the Top Camp – $33/AAP; $55/M; $65/R; $75/NR
This one-of-a-kind camp will give you views from distances and angles that you have never seen before. Come with us as we hike up Bull Run Mountain, hike at Great Falls, and indoor rock climb at Vertical Rock. The view from the top will be amazing!

Helping Hands Camp – $21/AAP; $35/M; $40/R; $45/NR
Spend your time wisely this summer by giving back to your community. Do you need community service hours for a volunteer organization or college applications? This is the perfect camp for you as we serve a different community organization each day. You will receive 16 hours of community service at the end of the week. *No camp on 7/4.

Learn how to expand your palate by trying new foods while hanging out with friends.

Adventure Camp – $57/AAP; $95/M; $105/R; $115/NR
Adventure camp engages teens with group activities based around journey and exploration. Camp will include field trips to local parks, teambuilding facilities, and fun activities such as Uptown Alley or the Autobahn Speedway.

Which Way’s the Water Camp – $57/AAP; $95/M; $105/R; $115/NR
Cool off from the scorching heat as we explore our area’s best waterparks. We will take a trip to a new location every day while getting to know great new friends. Don’t forget your swim attire, towel, and sunscreen!

Business and Entrepreneur Camp – $33/AAP; $55/M; $65/R; $75/NR
Chances are you have seen the show Shark Tank on TV. After contestants pitch their product, they try to get someone to invest in it. In our version of Shark Tank, teens will split up into groups, come up with a proposed product or service, and pitch it to “investors” on the final day of camp. Prizes will be awarded to the winning group. Make sure you bring your swimsuit and towel, because we will spend some time at the pool after discussing business ideas.

Art Camp – $33/AAP; $55/M; $65/R; $75/NR
This is not your regular run-of-the-mill art camp. Instead, this camp helps teens tap into their own creativity. Teens work together to create a display piece for the Teen Center, and they will also create something to take home at the end of camp.

World Tour Camp – $33/AAP; $55/M; $65/R; $75/NR
We live in such a diverse area! This camp will explore some of the various cultures, foods, and games that different countries have which makes them unique. We will immerse ourselves in Latin, Asian, African, and European cultures.

Enrollment & Payment Processes

You must register your child by the Wednesday prior to their chosen programs. If you are already registered and need to dis-enroll or switch camps (capacity permitting), you must make these changes by the Wednesday prior to the chosen program.

You must have a credit card on file for payment. If you do not have a card on file, your child will be removed from camps. Payments will be drafted on the Friday prior to camp. If your card does not go through, we will make email and phone contact Friday morning. If your account is not rectified by noon on Friday, your child will not be permitted to attend camp on Monday. If your account is brought to date after the noon deadline, your child will be permitted to start camp on Tuesday.
