Why is it important to have a local library in Manassas Park?
Having a local library is important to provide access to resources that are tailored to Manassas Park’s needs and desires. Manassas Park community leaders recognize that public libraries are crucial resources for information, education and enrichment and the importance of providing residents with a library that complements existing high-quality Manassas Park services. A locally focused public library makes Manassas Park an even better place to live, work and thrive.
What services does Manassas Park City Library (MPCL) offer?
MPCL provides books, digital books and audiobooks and programs for education and enrichment. The Library also provides technology access with public computers, laptops, printer/copier/scanner and Wi-Fi throughout the building. Serving the City’s youngest residents to seniors and everyone in between, the Library offers programs designed for Manassas Park, including story times, computer assistance, educational enhancement activities for teens and homeschoolers and a variety of adult offerings.
Where is MPCL located?
MPCL is temporarily located at 9701 Manassas Park in Blooms Park. Over the next few years, MPCL will grow and evolve, and the Library is expected to relocate to a bigger, more modern facility in downtown Manassas Park in 2023.

Is there be a sign-up process to access the library?
All are welcome to visit and browse the Library. In order to access electronic materials, check out physical materials and use MPCL computers and other resources, a library card must be obtained. MPCL library cards are free and only require identification and proof of address. Temporary cards can be obtained on the MPCL website and permanent cards can be obtained at the Library.
Can Manassas Park residents still access Prince William County Library System?
Yes. In addition to MPCL, Manassas Park residents can still visit and access services from the Prince William County Library System. Residents also have access to many other libraries through a reciprocal borrowing agreement – view the full list here.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, how will MPCL staff ensure a safe experience?
Accommodations and protocols have been put in place to ensure alignment with national and local health and safety guidelines,
What does the future hold for MPCL?
MPCL is just getting started! The Library will be housed in its temporary Blooms Park location for the first few years, however MPCL’s collection, programs and events will expand over time and MPCL is expected to relocate to a bigger, more modern facility in downtown Manassas Park in 2023. Community feedback and interests will help drive future programs and services at MPCL.
