Summer hasn’t started, but many parents are already looking into preschool for their little ones. While it may be a scary idea for some children, others are eager and ready to jump into it. Here are a few reminders for parents to help you prepare!
Find the right preschool for you. Not all preschool programs are the same, and it’s important to find one that best suits your child’s specific needs. When looking for a preschool that is appropriate for your child, be sure to find their rules and regulations, food services, and emergency procedures.
Put together all the right documents. Don’t be caught off guard! Many preschool programs require parents to bring in copies of certain documents before enrolling. Some documents include physical forms, vaccine records, and birth certificates. These are only a few of the documents that preschools may ask for, so be sure to find out what you need beforehand.
Schedule a visit or an orientation. In order for you and your child to get a real, hands-on look at preschool, it’s a good idea to schedule a visit so they can experience it themselves. While your child is exploring the classroom, take the time to ask teachers any questions you may have. Not all children are ready for school at the same time. If you find your child shying away from the idea of starting school, be sure to encourage them by talking about all the new things they’ll learn and the friends they’ll make.
Preschool is a great time for children to start learning more about the world around them. Take your time in finding the right preschool for your family. Registration for our 2019-2020 school year is now open! Stop by the front desk to get started.
