Sometimes when you see new students and new parents getting ready for the new school year, it is hard to tell who is more nervous: the students or their parents. Students are nervous as they are unsure of what lies ahead, and parents are nervous because they are not sure if their kids are truly prepared for what lies ahead.
Preparing for a new school year often carries so many different emotions for students, teachers, and parents. Children can be so anxious and scared. Parents feel overwhelmed and unsure. Teachers feel some pressure to make the transition to preschool as smooth as possible, and want your children to learn to love school and to love learning too!
However, we can all agree that we all have one feeling in common here at the MPCC preschool. And, that feeling is not nervousness! In fact, that feeling we, the MPCC staff, is experiencing is excitement. The MPCC preschool program is ready for the 2017-2018 school year to begin! We cannot wait!
We begin with our annual Open House on Wednesday August 30 from 9:00 am -2:00 pm. Parents and preschool students meet and greet with all the preschool teachers and staff! We share our excitement with everyone and you can truly see that we are ready for the school year. Our preschool classroom is decorated and ready to go.
Parents, please talk to your preschooler about school so that they are prepared for the new change and routine. Remember that your child can read your emotions and if you are upset or nervous on the way to preschool, this may give your child mixed emotions and this will make them feel like you are bringing them to a bad place.
We have an open door policy here at the MPCC preschool. The preschool staff has many years of combined experience, and knows that these first few weeks may be stressful especially if this is your child’s first experience in a school setting. Our staff is here for you should you feel you require any assistance in your child’s preschool transition to preschool. We are also here to hold your hand or offer you a shoulder to cry on as you and your child undergo the transition to preschool.
The MPCC preschool teachers, administration, and staff welcome parents and children with big smiles and a genuine desire to help your child adapt to preschool. Our experience will help your preschooler have an easy transition to Kindergarten, and that helps your child love the school experience-just like we do here at the MPCC preschool program.
