We have had several potlucks this past year. We have scheduled one every other month for guest speakers and holidays. Our most recent was with Denise Sintetos from Cheryl’s Organizing Concepts, LLC. During her visit, she shared some helpful tips on getting organized, downsizing, and decluttering. We enjoyed fellowship and light refreshments all while gathering information to make space in our lives and our homes. The first thing on her list says “put it on the calendar”! It talks about how to come up with a schedule and set a time to work on a certain area or room in your home. That tip really stuck out to me. I recall when my children were little; anytime they would mention something about an event coming up, or a need, my response was to add it to the calendar. Even now I continue to do so.
With this in mind, I would like to share with you some of the Senior events here at the Community Center. We recently released our spring MOSAIC with all our happenings here at the Community Center for all age groups. This MOSAIC covers all programs and events going on in March, April, and May. We also have the Senior board located behind the front desk. If you have not had time, I highly encourage you to stop by and check it out. The board offers more detailed information regarding Senior activities, upcoming events, and sign-up sheets for our potlucks. Frequent stops by the board as you go to and from classes or while you grab a cup of coffee, water, or a snack at the Senior coffee bar, will keep you up to date on our happenings.
We have a potluck scheduled for April with a guest speaker from AARP. We have scheduled another Brain Health Workshop. We will also be hosting the Commission on Aging meeting and traveling to Fredericksburg for a play at the Riverside dinner theatre. We have this and so much more. I encourage you to check it out. Be sure to contact me if you have any questions.
