When I came on as the new Marketing Manager for the Manassas Park Department of Parks and Recreation, I felt the most important things I could help bring to the community center were clarity and efficiency. In other words, I wanted to make the transactions our customers completed at the front desk simple and fast. The administrative staff and I have lots of ideas that we can’t wait to put into motion to achieve these goals, and today I’d like to give you a sneak peek at something we’re rolling out very soon that we believe is a step towards those goals.

Reserving rental space at the community center is a tricky process. Our front desk representatives have to be experts at rentals because there are just so many important details to know. From understanding the computer rental system, to pricing, to the rules and regulations; the entire process can be pretty intense. Fortunately our front desk staff is a great group of people who take their jobs seriously.   At the end of the day, we know we can rely on them to accurately and effectively relay pertinent information to our customers. Even still, this flood of information can be overwhelming for our customers. Simplification became the name of the game.

We’ve created new rental rate sheets at the front desk (and they’ll be available on the Department of Parks and Recreation website soon too!) where we removed a lot of the extra information that only applied in very rare cases and now include what you can expect to pay for deposits as well as maximum room occupancy. However, we felt we could simplify the rental process even more.

Very soon we will be launching wedding reception packages that include everything you need to have a successful event. There are two packages to chose from. One for the full banquet hall and one for the half banquet hall depending on the size of your party. Each includes a floor plan based on the most common floor plans submitted to us meaning one less thing you have to juggle. Weddings and special events are all unique so you can still customize the floor plans with guidance from our staff. Each package includes two prices; one for Manassas Park residents and one for non-residents. No longer will you have to perform complex mathematical equations to estimate the cost of your reception! We know you’ll love our packages so much that they actually have a 10% discount built into the pricing (compared to if you had reserved everything individually).

Creating these wedding packages has been a very exciting process. We are already planning package options for corporate/non-profit rentals, quinceañeras, family reunions, and more. Many of our customers research venues at the beginning of planning their special day and we want to make sure the process doesn’t start off exhausting and complicated. You don’t need to be an expert on our facility – that’s what we’re here for! Think of us as your personal concierge to the venue of endless possibilities.

As part of our plans for the wedding package, we really wanted to show off the beauty of our parks and community center. Front Desk Supervisor, Ana, and Teen Leader, Wes, both volunteered to be models for our wedding photo shoot.
