Member Spotlight: Andreea

Our member spotlight blog series features a Manassas Park Community Center member and their family. We hope that by sharing member stories we continue to work towards building an environment that embraces community.

Andreea’s family of four has been a member with us for over four years. Her two daughters, ages three and six, have grown up being part of our Community Center family. She started with a Basic membership and then upgraded it to the All Access Passport shortly after. In this Member Spotlight, Andreea talks to us about her experience with us.

How long have you lived in the area?

My family and I have lived in Manassas Park for ten years. We lived in Romania before moving here, so it’s the first and only place we have lived in since! Life is very different across the Atlantic, but we love it here.

How did you find out about the Community Center?

A few moms I’ve met at mom groups mentioned the swim lessons offered here, so we decided to check them out. We used to take swim lessons at the Freedom Center, but the Community Center is much closer to us and my daughters love the instructors!

Besides swim lessons, what programs does your family enjoy?

My oldest daughter attended Preschool here, and even after graduating, she loves coming to visit Ms. Angel! Both of my daughters enjoy the MMA classes, and so do I, because they’re a perfect way to get all their energy out before bedtime. My husband spends a lot of time working out in the fitness centers, and we both enjoy Game Night every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month!

Do you attend any special events?

The special events hosted here are a big reason we enjoy the Community Center. My daughters love the events involving crafts, like Dough Ornaments and Cupid’s Party. Events in the pool are also some of their favorite, like Floating Gourd Night and the St. Patrick’s Day Pool Treasure Hunt.

What has been your favorite vacation?

We recently went to Miami and loved it! Any beach where it’s warm and relaxing is a favorite of mine. We’ve also visited King’s Dominion and Busch Gardens. I’m not a fan of the rides myself, but my husband loves them. In fact, my oldest daughter is starting to be a little daredevil like her dad!

What would you say to someone who has never visited us?

I would tell them to stop by, enjoy the park, and then see what the inside has to offer. The Community Center has something for everyone, no matter the age!
